My professional focus is treating depression, substance dependency, and physical pain using a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches. I also have experience working with eating disorders, anxiety, sleep problems, and couples therapy.
I have been in private practice for more than ten years, and have discovered the effectiveness of Clinical Hypnosis and Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral therapy with my patients. I have taught classes to and done trainings for other professionals on Substance Dependency and Mental Health issues. For the last eight year, I served as a clinical supervisor and assessment specialist for the Marin County Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Drug Programs. Currently, I am a clinical supervisor for an outpatient program in Marin, and I continue to write substance abuse and treatment amenability assessments for public and private attorneys and provide consultation regarding these clinical issues for criminal justice personnel.
I share offices in Kentfield, Alameda and Walnut Creek with six other colleagues, and sometimes we do have interns. We all have different specialties. If I can’t help you, I can refer you to the appropriate resource. We offer evening and some weekend hours, and our offices are conveniently located. We take some EAP, PPO and insurance plans. In addition, some of us do provide some low-fee slots in our practices.
Some of my teachers have been Julia Ross, LMFT, Dr. Daniel Siegel, Mary Pipher, Bart Rubin, Ph.D, Dr. Scott Miller, Dr. David Burns, Dr. Francis Dreher, Dr. Michael Yapko, Dr. John and Julie Gottman, Michael Kahn, Ph.D., Les Collins and Ben McAllister, LMFT. To all, I give a special Thank You. They are the ones who have enabled me to bring the effective and quality work to all who seek my professional expertise, guidance and support.
I look forward to working with you.
Be Well,
Elizabeth Dandenell, LMFT
